Javaid Farooqui

A highly experienced and respected international banker who has worked at the highest level of financial services in South Africa. In his 23-year career at Habib Overseas Bank, Javaid pioneered the bank's operations and growth in Southern Africa and was responsible for launches in Cape Town and other locations. His role grew during his tenure incorporating customer growth, leading on anti-money laundering and compliance activity, foreign trade and foreign exchange transactions. He also serviced the needs of the bank's most important HNW and UNHW clients.

Javaid's private banking experience extends to global brands, and he led Credit Suisse (South Africa)'s private banking division between 2013-2015.

During his early career, Javaid spent several years in Pakistan (United Bank Limited Karachi) and Southern Africa (BCCI - Swaziland) where he began his international trade and foreign exchange journey.

Hamza Farooqui is a businessman, advisor and entrepreneur who has actively invested in and managed assets for over 20 years. His sectors of expertise are real estate, technology, hospitality and financial services.

Hamza Farooqui is a pioneer in the African satellite radio player market, growing Worldspace to be a dominant industry player, and influential in building the regulatory framework. He was instrumental in the company listing on the NASDAQ Stock Exchange, and raising US$240 million of new capital.

He excels in Mergers & Acquisitions and led the acquisition of WorldSpace's satellite assets, generating a 10x return to investors within 24 months. These assets are now valued at over $120 million.

Hamza Farooqui founded Cii Holdings which spanned numerous sectors including financial services, real estate, retail and broadcasting. Spotting a market opportunity, Hamza developed a niche in Islamic themed financial and lifestyle products, leading to great commercial success.

He distributed original, English-language, Islamic lifestyle content internationally and launched several highly successful Islamic financial services products (Old Mutual Albaraka Equity Fund and the Old Mutual Balanced Life Fund) with Old Mutual. These funds currently have ZAR 2.5 billion AUM.

His early business ventures established him as one of Africa's leading entrepreneurs and led to numerous business awards and nominations from South Africa and Dubai to Pakistan.

Sadi Farooqui

A highly experienced financial services professional in operations and risk management especially in the real estate sector.

With an MBA majoring in Risk & Operations Management, a track record at Standard Bank (South Africa) as a senior risk analyst and contributing to the Basel II project - Sadi is expert in modelling and managing business risk.

His deep experience also includes roles at Big Four global accountancy firms - Deloitte and PwC - where he specialised in auditing and reporting of Provision Models and Financial Risk Advisory Services.

A core part of Sadi's role at Millat is the management of its real estate portfolio which includes its flagship Cape Town hotel asset. Sadi also has a qualification in Hotel Real Estate & Investments from Cornell University in the United States.

Post graduating as an engineer, Sadi began his career in operational roles at renowned multi-nationals Johnson Matthey and Procter & Gamble.

A Chartered Accountant and registered Auditor in South Africa, Mduduzi Ndlangamandla is a highly experienced and well respected financial services professional. With more than 10 years of industry experience, Mduduzi specialises in financial accounting, reporting, analysis, taxation, and external and internal auditing.

After achieving a Bachelor of Commerce and a Higher Diploma in Accountancy (CTA) from University of Witwatersrand, Mduduzi began his career as an Audit Supervisor at KPMG. In December 2011, Mduduzi received the prestigious KPMG Encore Award for performance excellence.

In January 2014, Mduduzi joined Millat Properties as a Financial Accountant Consultant.
